What’s going on?!?!

When I went to my doctor’s appointment on January 19th, my doctor thought I was having too swelling. He said event tough I ‘m in the last sprint of my pregnancy and it is summer, it was way too much. He asked for a protein urine test. So I did it.
My numbers came back 2, 5 higher than the recommended number. I sent the results to my doctor by email on Sunday (Did I say I love technology??). He called me on Monday afternoon, and he asked me to come to his office right away. When I got there, my Blood Pressure was 140 X 90, which is way too high for my 90 X 60 standards. These three factors combined are called preeclampsia.
He said: I want to you to go to the hospital and check in there for observation.
Since I was alone I tried to bargain with him to go only on Tuesday, but he didn’t buy it. I could bargain it with him, to go back home, get a few things and then come back to the hospital later at night.
I left his office, called Paulo and my parents to let them know what was going on and then I drove home.
For some sign of the universe, I had finished my maternity bag on Sunday evening. So it was just to go home, grab a few more items like cell phone charger, camera and I head to the hospital.
They didn’t want to admit me because I didn’t have a chaperon. I told them, I don’t have any and my doctor is expecting a lots of test results, so you better break your rules.
I was admitted to the hospital, had a whole bunch of tests done for me and Heloisa.
Her tests are perfect, and mine…. Well…. My blood pressure was under control, but the protein test had to be done again.
So, I’ve been at the hospital since January 30th, they take my blood pressure 03 times a day, they check Heloisa with a stress test three times a day too. I have been doing ultra sounds every other day and blood work every other day. All in all, everything is fine, except the protein levels and the swelling. Even my blood pressure is under control with no medication.
As a precaution, my doctor decided to keep me at the hospital for 24 hours observation until further notice a.k.a until Heloisa is born.
Today he came by to visit me and he finally said: My goal is to make you reach 38 weeks, if something changes, you are at the right place and we could deliver the baby as necessary.
Anyway, assuming everything will keep the same, I will have two more weeks at the hospital.
I am enjoying this time and I am trying to rest as much as possible.
I will try to post more news when I can.
