Estamos voltando!!! EBA!!!!It is official....

It was a huge day for us. We finally made the final move.
My husband got a job offer from an European Automaker and he accepted. There are a lot of details that I want to share, but I have no time now.
We have to be back in São Paulo (his hometown) on June 4th, so he can start to work and he needs to report in the Headquarters in France on June 11th. We are trying to figure out if we will be packing everything and moving now or if when we come back from Europe we will do the moving.
,He will be in France for at least 2 months and after that we will finally fix residence in São Paulo.
I sure hope to be there with him by this date. I will keep you posted with more details, as soon as I have them .

Germany- 2 of 5

After we spent 2 lovely days in Heidelberg, we rented a car and we drove to Munich.
By half way, we stopped in Stuttgart. Our destinations were Porsche Museum and Mercedes Museum.
We got lost so many time that we almost gave up. (I have to take my hat off to my American Friends, they sure know how to put signs on the roads and streets. My German Friends have a lot to learn hehehehe.)
The Porsche Museum is really nice and there are a lot of beautiful cars there, but the museum does not the have that WOW factor. I was a little disappointed.
Then we drove to the Mercedes Museum. Guess what??? We got lost again... and we almost gave up again, but on our last try we found it. And I am just thankful that we found it. The museum is a 5 store building, with an elevator that looks like you are going inside a space ship.
As you, my faithful readers, might have figure it out by now, my husband and I work for one of the Big Three American Car companies... the one that have its founder last name as its name.... Well, we are always bombed with so many histories about him and all his inventions. His stories don't leave any place to anybody else.
It was really good to go and see all the other car's inventors from the begining of the last century. The way that these inventions helped and interacted with the rest of the world.
The museum show prototype car from every decade since its invention and all that happened in the world in that period. We learned so many things, but I have a favorite.
On those days, the marriage was arranged by the bride and groom's parents. So, for the Mercedes creator wasn't differente. He got himself in debt with all his inventions and his bride paid him out of debt even without beeing married. I don't have all the details, but it was something interesting to learn.
The Mercedes Museum was one of the best experiences in our trip. I want to go back and I am really eager to see the new Porsche Museum that will open by the end of this year.

Germany - 1 of 5

I always imagined Germany like a Fairy Tale book. A place where every flower is planted in the right place, every house is designed in a harmonic way; every window is painted in the right color, and so far. And almost everything was like my imagination.

We landed in Frankfurt on April 14th, 36 hours after we left our home in Salvador. We were not just tired, we were plain exhausted. As soon as we landed, we could feel the difference in people education, the way everyone behaves. I am really sorry to say, but after 4 years living in Bahia, I almost forgot that people can be well educated, polite and extremely cordial.

Before we left, we scheduled a shuttle with the Hotel, so we wouldn't get lost in our way to Heidelberg.

It was an 85 km / 54 mile trip that just took my breath away. I will never forget the first view of a Castle, an Auto-bahn and all the cars speeding without limits right beside you.

We chose Heidelberg to just recharge our batteries and enjoy a little time before the "touristy" madness started.

Heidelberg is a small city with 140000 habitants and only 109km2 areas. The main attraction is the Heidelberg Schloss. It is a Castle ruin and one of the most famous in Germany. The Castle sits 80 m above the Neckar River. The views over there are breathtaking. We spent a whole afternoon walking around the Castle and in its Gardens. You can see the pictures on the web site.

By the end of the day we treated ourselves with a nice typical dinner in a local micro brewery, Veal Sausage, Sauerkraut and an extremely nice beer.

On our second day, we spent the day walking around the city. We saw wonderful buildings, nice people, nice squares, wonderful shops (of course) and nice caffees.

The churches are a chapter all by itself. We've been to the Jesuit Church there and I felt in love with it.

We are back.

We arrived on Monday and we are already working "full power". That is why I didn't stop by soon.
I will write more about the trip and all my impressions abouth Germany and the Netherlands. I took more than 600 pictures, so I have a huge work ahead of me.
I am not sure if I will stop by this weekend, because Paulo will be doing an eye surgery tomorrow morning. He is doing the Short Site surgery (I am not sure about the name in English - he doesn't see very well in long distance).
And the Hurricane Three is up and running again. It hit us while we were waiting our flight to Germany. I wil keep you posted. It truns out it will be better than expected.
Love,
